CREATIVE PROBLEMS IN DIGITAL ANIMATION II (PROJECT 1)

This project involved an animation (in my case, a 3D model) inspired by a Poem. I chose the Poem, “Slow Motion” by David J Walker. My professor allowed me to substitute 3D modeling in lieu of animation, since my focus is on 3D modeling and texturing. The final deliverable for this project was to be a rough final. Our fourth project in this course was to choose one of our rough finals and see it to completion. I did not choose this particular project for the fourth project, but I do plan on finishing it to completion after my Master’s program is completed, so stay tuned. PROCESS WORK

The first piece of process work regarding this project involved planning and sketching prior to beginning the block out in Maya. Click on the images to view larger.

The next step was to create a storyboard. The idea is if I do see this through to final, I will present the model set to music and sound effects. Click on the image to view larger.

These next videos are my process work during the project. The first is a rough animatic, followed by the block out modeling phase, and then the final “rough model” progress check at final turn in.
