ANIM6115 – EMOTING AND COMMUNICATION FOR COMMERCIAL CREATIVES (PROJECT 1 and 2)
Our first project in this course was to create a Design Brief of a character that we were to translate into a Puppet to use in Adobe Character Animator. We learned how to take an existing puppet file and “reverse engineer” it to work with our own design.
Here is my Design Brief Final for this project: (Click image to view larger)
Our second project in this course was to take the final puppet file from Project 1, write a monologue, and then record/animate it in Adobe Character Animator using the onboard camera capture feature of the program. The software takes your audio and translates all the visemes into a lip sync. The idea was to be able to act out our monologue and let the software translate this into a believable animation. This is where we all discovered all the limitations inherent in Adobe Character Animator. I will say, it is a great little program for quick information videos, however.
